Voted the World's Leading Tourist Attraction, Titanic Belfast is a must-visit. Our complete guide tells you everything you need to know before your visit.
Titanic Belfast is one of Europe's finest museums and was voted the World's Leading Tourist Attraction at the World Travel Awards. Built on the exact site where the RMS Titanic was constructed, it's an unmissable experience for every visitor to Belfast.
The Building The Titanic Belfast building is as much an attraction as its contents. Designed by Civic Arts and Todd Architects, the 14,000 square metre structure is clad in more than 3,000 individual aluminium shards that reflect the sky, sea, and city. Its four prows reach 38 metres — the same height as Titanic's hull.
The Nine Galleries The museum takes visitors on a journey from the shipyards of Victorian Belfast through the construction, launch, and sinking of the Titanic to its rediscovery and legacy.
Gallery 1: **Belfast Born and Built** — the story of Belfast's industrial rise Gallery 2: **The Shipyard** — the design and construction process with real drawings Gallery 3: **The Launch** — a recreation of the 1911 launch, the largest in the world at the time Gallery 4: **The Fit-Out** — the luxurious interiors recreated in detail Gallery 5: **Titanic at Sea** — the maiden voyage and the ship in its brief glory Gallery 6: **The Sinking** — the night of April 14–15, 1912, told with survivor accounts Gallery 7: **Aftermath** — the aftermath, inquiries, and impact on maritime law Gallery 8: **The Myths and Legends** — how Titanic entered popular culture Gallery 9: **Titanic Discovered** — Dr. Robert Ballard's 1985 discovery of the wreck
The Shipyard Ride One of the museum's highlights — a 4D ride through the recreated Harland & Wolff shipyards with moving cars and special effects. Genuinely thrilling.
